Uva Ursi (Bearberry)

Arctostaphylos uva-ursi

Bearberry, also known as Uva Ursi, is an evergreen shrub native to northern regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. It has been used for centuries as a urinary tract antiseptic and tonic. The leaves contain arbutin, tannins, and flavonoids that contribute to its traditionally used for wellness and astringent properties.

Cautions

Habitat & Growing Conditions

Native to northern regions of Europe, Asia, and North America. Grows in rocky, sandy soil in cold climates. USDA zones 2-6. Prefers acidic to neutral soil in full sun.
