Finding Your Passion: 4 Ways to Reignite Your Fire

If you’re feeling burned out, uninspired, or just… blah, you’re not broken. It just means your inner fire needs tending.

Passion isn’t always loud. Sometimes it whispers. And sometimes it gets buried under jobs, bills, responsibilities, and survival. But I promise — your spark is still there.

Here are 4 simple, soulful ways to reconnect with your passion — plus a bit of my own story, in case you need a reminder that it’s never too late to begin again.

1. Notice What You Miss When Life Is Full

About ten years ago, I was working a full-time job and a part-time job — 70 hours a week just to make ends meet. I was physically drained, emotionally tapped out, and had no time for anything extra.

But in that blur of overwork, I started paying attention to what I missed the most. I missed herbs. I missed making things with my hands. I missed connecting with people in meaningful ways.

That quiet noticing became a spark. And over time, that spark grew into Herban Herbalist.

If you’re in a season where your plate is full, ask yourself:
?️ “What am I aching to do — even when I have no time for it?”
That’s your clue.

2. Take Money Out of the Equation

Let’s be real — we often tie passion to income. “Can I make a living from it?” “Will it pay the bills?” But not everything that fuels your soul is meant to be monetized — at least not at first.

Ask yourself:
“If I didn’t need to worry about money… what would I still do?”

Maybe you’d write. Garden. Teach. Make herbal remedies. Dance. That’s your fire talking. Let it lead you for the joy of it — not for the paycheck.

3. Return to Your Childhood Joys

Think back. What did you love before the world told you who to be?

I used to play in the dirt, mixing leaves and flowers into “potions.” I didn’t know then that it was herbalism — I just knew it made me happy. That little girl still lives inside me, and I honor her every time I blend a tea, pour a candle, or speak to a client.

Your childhood self knew what joy felt like. Follow that memory back to what matters.

4. Follow Curiosity, Not Pressure

You don’t need to figure it all out today. Just follow what feels warm. What sparks your interest? What books do you reach for? What topic keeps finding its way into your life?

Light a candle (I recommend our Ignite Candle if you want to add some ritual fire ?), take a few breaths, and ask yourself:
“What am I drawn to explore, express, or create?”

Then write it down. Don’t filter. Just allow it.
